About the National Honor Society

The National Honor Society is a distinguished honor for sophomores who have achieved a cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher and have demonstrated exceptional leadership, character, and service to their school and community. These national criteria ensure that membership is recognized as a prestigious honor across the country.

The National Honor Society Focus

Service:

  • Participates in activities like Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, church groups, volunteer services, and family duties.
  • Offers dependable, organized assistance and is willing to sacrifice time to help others.
  • Works well with others, taking on both visible and inconspicuous responsibilities.
  • Represents the school in various competitions and events.
  • Cheerfully assists with school-related requests and responsibilities.
  • Mentors community members or students from other schools.

Leadership:

  • Proposes solutions, applies principles, and makes suggestions.
  • Promotes and leads school activities.
  • Influences peers positively and upholds school ideals.

Membership Meeting Dates:

Schedule to be determined.  Meetings are typically after school, once per month for all members and twice a month for executive council members (one council meeting and then the general membership meeting).
